Connecting to the MCP server

Any MCP-capable client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and others) connects to the CovaSketch tools via streamable HTTP.

Endpoint

https://mcp.covasyn.com/mcp

Transport: streamable HTTP, MCP protocol version 2025-06-18. Server-sent events are supported.

Authentication

Create a free account. In the dashboard, open API keys and generate a key. It is shown only once, so copy it straight into your client configuration. Compromised keys can be revoked there at any time.

The server accepts the key in two equivalent forms:

X-CovaSyn-Key: <your-key>
Authorization: Bearer <your-key>

The server also speaks OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. Clients implementing the MCP OAuth flow connect without manual key entry. Discovery documents:

Verify a key and fix errors

Client configuration

Claude Desktop and claude.ai: add a custom connector with this address under Settings, Connectors. Sign-in runs through OAuth; no key is needed:

https://mcp.covasyn.com/mcp

ChatGPT: create a custom connector with the same address in the connector settings; sign-in also runs through OAuth.

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http covasketch https://mcp.covasyn.com/mcp \
  --header "X-CovaSyn-Key: <your-key>"

Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "covasketch": {
      "url": "https://mcp.covasyn.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "X-CovaSyn-Key": "<your-key>" }
    }
  }
}

VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json):

{
  "servers": {
    "covasketch": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.covasyn.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "X-CovaSyn-Key": "<your-key>" }
    }
  }
}

Allowances

Every call counts against your plan's weekly allowance. When it is used up, further calls stop until renewal; nothing is charged automatically. Usage and plan are shown in your account.
